What This Tool Does
After you confirm, the batch file exports the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive to a .reg file in your Documents folder. It does not export HKEY_CURRENT_USER, create a full system image, or guarantee that importing the file will restore Windows.
Before Running
Registry files contain system configuration and may be sensitive. Keep the export private. For a recoverable system baseline, use a Windows restore point or a full system backup in addition to any registry export. Do not edit or import registry data unless you understand the specific change.
Run It
- Download the
.batfile. - Read its notice and enter Y only if you want to create the export; N cancels.
- Approve administrator permission only if expected.
- Keep the resulting file in a secure location.
Restoring
Importing a .reg file can overwrite current settings and is not a general rollback. Do not double-click the export as a routine recovery step. If Windows or an application is malfunctioning, use an appropriate restore point or qualified support instead.
